Vancouver is a remarkable city — a harbor town caught between mountains and sea, built by people who came from everywhere to make something of themselves. But in the last decade, the city has stopped working for the people who actually live in it.
Residents face rising property taxes, concerns about public disorder, long permit timelines, and growing pressure on small businesses. The Downtown Eastside remains a profound humanitarian and public-policy challenge. Vancouver needs measurable results, transparent evidence, and clear accountability for the services residents fund.
We are a political party. We recruit and run candidates in Vancouver's at-large council, mayoral, and school-board elections who commit, in writing, to specific, measurable reforms. We campaign as one city-wide team, and we hold our elected officials to those commitments.
02 — Election Priorities
Ten priorities for a Vancouver that works.
Every TrueBlue candidate is expected to campaign on these priorities and remain accountable for delivering them in office.
PRIORITY 01
Affordable Homes & Strong Neighbourhoods
Make housing easier and less expensive to build by cutting unnecessary fees, red tape and permit delays, while protecting neighbourhood character and giving residents a meaningful voice in development decisions.
PRIORITY 02
Lower Taxes & Responsible Spending
Control property-tax increases, audit City Hall spending and cut wasteful programs and bureaucracy so taxpayer dollars are focused on essential municipal services.
PRIORITY 03
Safe Streets & Strong Policing
Support properly funded police, address repeat crime and serious public disorder, and ensure Vancouver’s streets, neighbourhoods and public spaces are safe for everyone.
PRIORITY 04
Treatment, Recovery & Mental Health
Move away from normalizing hard-drug use and focus resources on prevention, detox, treatment, long-term recovery and appropriate care for people experiencing serious mental-health crises.
PRIORITY 05
Better Roads, Parking & Transit
Protect road capacity and neighbourhood parking, oppose congestion pricing, audit underused bike lanes and support practical transit improvements based on ridership, affordability and demonstrated need.
PRIORITY 06
A City Where Business Can Thrive
Cut unnecessary red tape, protect access to commercial parking and reduce the costs and obstacles that make it harder for local businesses to operate and grow.
PRIORITY 07
Clean, Safe & Welcoming Public Spaces
Keep parks, sidewalks, recreation facilities and other public spaces clean, well-maintained and accessible while addressing dangerous encampments and serious public disorder.
PRIORITY 08
Better Schools & Parental Involvement
Promote safe schools, practical student supports, critical thinking and parental involvement while supporting police liaison programs and meaningful opportunities for students to participate in school issues.
PRIORITY 09
Accountable & Transparent City Hall
Publish clear information about City spending, hold elected officials and departments accountable, and give Vancouver residents a stronger voice before major decisions are made.
PRIORITY 10
Equal Treatment for Every Vancouverite
Ensure City policies and services treat residents fairly and consistently, protect practical accessibility for people with disabilities, and make decisions based on individual needs rather than race or ancestry.
